Novelis makes SECOND US plant closure in a week

Aluminium producer Novelis is to close another US manufacturing facility.

According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) its Richmond, Virginia, USA facility will close on May 30, with the loss of 72 jobs.

The Atlanta-Georgia headquartered company said its rolling mill in Richmond utilises pellet casting technology to produce aluminium rolled sheet for the building and construction industry.

Earlier this week the company also aids its Fairmont facility in West Virginia would close permanently on June 30 with the loss of nearly 200 jobs.
