The most famous is tin bronze. This alloy is one of the first mastered by man. Bronze has a significantly greater hardness compared to pure copper, is quite durable, and melts at lower temperatures. Tin in all grades of tin bronze is the main alloying component and its content is the second largest after copper. In modern bronze, additional additives are in third place: lead, zinc, arsenic and others. Tin bronze, except for grades with a low tin content, is difficult to process by pressure, namely forging, stamping, rolling, cutting and sharpening. Therefore, bronze is a casting metal as a whole, which allows it to be used in complex, in shape, castings, including art casting and in these qualities is not inferior to any other metal.
Tin bronze is widely used in the manufacture of bells, in numerous variations of antique furniture, furniture, fittings, sculptures and monuments. Until the 19th century, bronze was also used in casting guns, the so-called “gun bronze”.
