Aluminum Wire Rod AKLP PT

Aluminum Wire Rod of AKLP PT Grades (AW 1080 – H11) is a type of aluminum wire rod manufactured in accordance with GOST 13843-78. The abbreviation AKLP PT should be understood as semi-solid aluminum wire rod obtained by continuous casting and rolling. This grade of aluminum rod is manufactured in the first and highest categories, has nominal diameters from 9 to 25 mm and is intended for the manufacture of wire and other electrical applications.

Aluminum Wire Rod AKLP PT of standard GOST 13843-78 at 200°C has a specific electrical resistance of no more than 0.0281 Ohm*mm2/m and an ultimate tensile strength of up to 83 MPa.

Wire rod acceptance rules include the following provisions:

  • Wire rod is accepted only in lots. In this case, the lot should consist of wire rod of the same brand, one, maximum two heats and be of the same size. The maximum weight of one batch should not exceed 70 tons.
  • Compliance check can be performed on the entire lot of wire rod, but in practice it is done selectively. In this case, at least 2 coils must be checked.
  • Compliance with the requirements is checked upon receipt by the consumer.
  • If unsatisfactory measurement results are obtained for at least one of the indicators from GOST 13843-78, measurements are repeated on a doubled number of coils taken from one batch. The measurement results apply to the entire batch.
