The Mexican Ministry of Economy has announced the launch of an anti-dumping investigation into the import of certain types of aluminum products from China. The objects of the investigation are rods and profiles made of unalloyed aluminum and aluminum alloys, with the exception of hollow sections. A separate investigation is being conducted on them, in which not only Chinese but also American companies are involved.
The initiators of the investigation were local companies Indalum and Cuprum. According to their representatives, Chinese competitors supplied their products to Mexico at reduced prices and in significant volumes, thereby causing damage to domestic producers.
The investigation will cover the period from July 2023 to June 2024. When determining the damage caused, data will be taken into account starting from July 2021.
